Rapid results from milk sampling to parasite tests

Herd Health Management is proud to have convenient in-house animal laboratory services that provide quick and accurate results for livestock and farm animals in Maricopa, AZ and surrounding communities. Our state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped to handle many types of tests, ensuring that you receive the information you need to make informed decisions about your animals’ health.

Milk

Sampling

Our in-house lab at Herd Health Management provides complete services for milk quality testing in Maricopa. You can bring milk samples from cows, goats, or other lactating livestock species for thorough analysis.

For raw milk samples, our laboratory performs cultures to detect pathogens that can affect milk safety and herd health, including E. coli, Mycoplasma, and other bacteria. We also provide bacterial count testing and milk component analysis, giving you valuable insight into the nutritional composition and overall quality of your milk. In addition, Somatic Cell Count testing using PCR technology allows for faster, more accurate detection of mastitis-related concerns.

For pasteurized milk samples, we perform Laboratory Pasteurization Count (LPC) testing, which identifies heat-resistant bacteria and other pathogens that may remain after pasteurization.

Our lab uses advanced techniques to test for various pathogens and indicators of milk health, so that you can make sure your livestock’s milk is safe and high quality. Make informed decisions with trusted milk sampling, whether you operate a dairy herd, small farm, or have a hobby animal.

Animal Medical Testing

In addition to milk sampling, Herd Health Management has other in-house diagnostic services through our livestock veterinary lab in Maricopa to support the health and productivity of your animals.

Fecal testing is available for any livestock species and is an important tool for detecting internal parasites and coccidia infections. Routine farm animal fecal exams develop effective treatment plans. For goats, fecal testing is especially valuable for identifying coccidiosis, an especially common condition in kids.

Our lab performs pregnancy testing for cows and goats through blood samples, offering a reliable way to assist with herd reproductive management. Early pregnancy detection is useful for the planning of breeding schedules.

We can perform goat biosecurity screenings, which test for important diseases such as CAE (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis), CL (Caseous Lymphadenitis), Johne’s Disease, and Q Fever.

Our in-house laboratory results allow livestock owners to take fast, proactive steps.
