Dr. Samantha Cubbage is originally from a small farming community in Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Tech veterinary school. Dr. Cubbage loves all aspects of large animal medicine, including small ruminant, pig, beef/dairy, and equine work. Throughout school, Dr. Cubbage participated in clubs such as the food animal practitioners club, serving as both the small ruminant and cattle representative, and the Christian Veterinary Fellowship where she was involved in mission and service trips. She has a special interest in large animal surgery, reproduction, and herd health.

After moving to Arizona, Dr. Cubbage looks forward to being involved with 4H and FFA in the community!  In her free time, Dr. Cubbage loves to spend time with her family, partner David and beagle Cheyenne. They enjoy spending time outside hiking, swimming, and kayaking.

Dr. Darryl Casterton grew up on a farm in rural Northern Idaho raising cattle and horses. She graduated from Washington State University in 2021 and moved to San Tan Valley with her husband, Lucas. Darryl loves all large animal medicine but has always had a soft spot for cattle and horses. In practice, Dr. Casterton especially enjoys beef cattle herd work, cattle reproduction, equine reproduction (including AI and embryo transfer) and veterinary chiropractic.

Darryl loves to be outdoors and is excited to experience the Arizona weather. When she is not at work, Darryl can be found taking care of her own cows, horses, dogs, Millie and Chassis, and cat, Smudge. Her favorite place to be is horseback, which is where she and her husband spend most of their spare time, raising colts and roping.

Bart is the supply salesman and runs our delivery routes. In his spare time, he works and competes in team roping events, trains horses, and raises and trains herding dogs. He enjoys roping, riding and helping out on roundups.

Chandler is in charge of picking up samples from local dairies. After his route, he assists in the lab.

Chandler is currently attending Mesa Community College. He is studying microbiology.

In his spare time, Chandler likes to spend time with his girlfriend of three years. They love to play with their pets. They have two cats, Little B who is pure black and a Siamese named Misha. They also have a new puppy named Dante who is loved by the whole practice and is now the office pet.

Chandler likes to create and build things, like furniture, knives, and jewelry.

Dr. Brownlee graduated from Michigan State University, but grew up here in Arizona. Dr. Brownlee works predominately with small ruminants (sheep and goats) and enjoys many aspects of small ruminant medicine including nutrition, reproduction, infectious diseases, herd health and client education. She is also an active member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.

Dr. Brownlee see’s other large animals including dairy and beef cattle, pigs, horses, llamas, and farm dogs. She is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, is skilled in bovine artificial insemination and a member of the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA). Dr. Brownlee works with dairies of all sizes from 1-10 cow dairies up to 60,000 head facilities. Throughout school Dr. Brownlee participated in Dairy Challenge and likes the opportunity to analyze data and problem solve on the farm. She especially enjoys working with calves and heifers.

Dr. Brownlee is also a part of the community and works with students in FFA/4H programs. She volunteers for the Queen Creek Rodeo, Maricopa County Fair and Arizona National Livestock Show.

In her free time Dr. Brownlee hikes all over the East Valley, horseback rides, learns about/takes care of bees and spends time with her two dogs Charlie and Cody.

Special interests include: Small ruminant medicine/reproduction, equine reproduction, bovine reproduction (including pregnancy diagnosis via ultrasound and fetal sexing) and equine dentistry.

Jeanette graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 1992 with a Veterinary Technology degree. She spent 3 years as a small animal veterinary technician, before coming to work for Herd Health. Jeanette has been with Herd Health Management for 15 years and works as the laboratory manager for the mastitis and large animal diagnostic laboratory.

Jeanette does a multitude of in-house laboratory work, including milk culturing on individual and bulk tank samples to help identify appropriate antibiotic treatments and control contagious pathogen spread. Additionally, she also prepares samples for shipment to diagnostic labs, conducts in house fecal exams, blood smear analysis and gram staining with bacteria identification on samples.

In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading and taking care of her 6 children.

Dr. Lunt graduated from Colorado State University in 1979, with a special focus in herd animal medicine. Dr. Lunt is an active member of AABP, AVMA, Society of Theriogenology. Dr. Lunt is currently licensed in both Arizona and Colorado.

Dr. Lunt works predominately with cattle (both dairy and beef) and has a special interest in developing ovsynch programs and preventative medicine. He is also involved in coordinating on farm training for farm employees on reproductive performance, milker schools, AI schools, calf hygiene and general farm hygiene.

Dr. Lunt is also a supporter for 4H and FFA programs in the East Valley High Schools.

In Dr. Lunt's free time he enjoys spending time with his family which includes his 6 children, 27 grandkids and his beautiful wife Doris. He also enjoys volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America where he is an assistant scout master. Dr. Lunt enjoys hiking and camping with the scout groups. Dr. Lunt's family owns Lunt Dairy in Duncan where they milk 600 head and raise 450 beef cows and farm 1500 acres.

Dr. Montana Ritz is originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Ritz started her education at the University of Alabama then transferred to Midwestern University where she graduated with her doctorate. When she is not at work, Montana enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking and fishing, and she found Arizona to be the best for all three. She also enjoys spending time with her cats Hannah and Piper.

Dr. Ritz recently joined Herd Health Management with a passion for goats and cows. She hopes to own some of her own soon.

Dr. Holmes graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1999 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with a food animal medicine emphasis. He worked at Lander Veterinary Clinic in Turlock, California from 1999-2005, before coming to Herd Health Management in March of 2005.

He started Gila River Veterinary Services, LLC in 2013 to focus on backyard food animal veterinary medicine and husbandry. He currently works at Herd Health Management and Gila River Veterinary Services. He resides in Buckeye, Arizona with his wife and children.

Dr. Holmes is currently licensed in Arizona, California, Idaho, and Utah. He is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV), and American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP).

In practice, Dr. Holmes is interested in husbandry, food animal medicine, and population health. He works predominantly with dairy cattle and swine, and has expanded into doing beef cattle, goats, and sheep (including show livestock).

Dr. Holmes assists with livestock shows as his schedule allows. He was the show veterinarian for the Arizona National Livestock Show in 2015.

Dr. Kennedy graduated from University of California, Davis in 1997 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kennedy has been with Herd Health Management for 20 years. In practice he enjoys working with dairy cattle and has a special interest in reproductive programs and calf programs, working on dairies in both Arizona and New Mexico.

Dr. Kennedy is currently licensed in Arizona and New Mexico and is a current member of the AVMA and AABP.

In Dr. Kennedy's spare time he enjoys learning about the history of WWII and has a special interest in the Pacific theater of operations. Dr. Kennedy is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with his wife and children doing family activities, traveling or being outdoors and camping.

Ronnie Murphy has been with Herd Health Management since December 2018. She was raised in Snowflake, AZ and moved to the valley in 2013.

Ronnie went to EAC (Eastern Arizona College) for Media communications.

In her spare time, Ronnie can be found at the movies, or playing video games with her cats Gracie Lou Freebush and Milo.
