Dr. Brownlee graduated from Michigan State University, but grew up here in Arizona. Dr. Brownlee works predominantly with small ruminants (sheep and goats) and enjoys many aspects of small ruminant medicine including nutrition, reproduction, infectious diseases, herd health and client education. She is also an active member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.
Dr. Brownlee see’s other large animals including dairy and beef cattle, pigs, horses, llamas, and farm dogs. She is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, is skilled in bovine artificial insemination and a member of the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA). Dr. Brownlee works with dairies of all sizes from 1-10 cow dairies up to 60,000 head facilities. Throughout school Dr. Brownlee participated in Dairy Challenge and likes the opportunity to analyze data and problem solve on the farm. She especially enjoys working with calves and heifers.
Dr. Brownlee is also a part of the community and works with students in FFA/4H programs. She volunteers for the Queen Creek Rodeo, Maricopa County Fair and Arizona National Livestock Show.
In her free time Dr. Brownlee hikes all over the East Valley, horseback rides, keeps bees, gardens and enjoys spending time with her family.
Special interests include: Small ruminant medicine/reproduction including conventional and laparoscopic procedures, equine reproduction, bovine reproduction: timed artificial insemination, embryo transfer, pregnancy diagnosis and fetal sexing with ultrasound.
